PG Umueri, Metchie Receives Special Award From NYCN Anambra State Chapter.

The President General of Umueri Community, Chief John Metchie has again received special award from National Youth Council of Nigeria,NYCN, Anambra State chapter as the Anambra Youth Commander of the association.

Few weeks ago, he was given an award as well as installed as Patron of Anambra North chapter of NYCN.

These awards were given to him for his contributions to youth empowerment and community development in Umueri community and various other places.

The award presentation ceremony which took place during the NYCN Anambra Youth Innovation Business Empowerment Summit and Extra-ordinary Achievers Award held in Awka, attracted members of the association from across the state, political appointees, captains of industry, military, paramilitary operatives among others.

The theme of the summit, “Harnessing Global Business Opportunities through innovation, for sustainability and survival of today’s economic challenges in Nigeria”, had Prof Emma Okoye, Director of Unizik Business School as the Guest Speaker.

In his welcome address, the State Chairman of NYCN, Comrade Chukwudi Obi speaking through his deputy, pointed out that through engaging dialogue they will uncover trends, embracing the transformative power of collective wisdom, adding that in the event of economic meltdown and evolution, business summit stand as beacons of learning and network for the survival of all Anambra youths.

In his response after receiving the award, the President -General of Umueri, Chief John Metchie represented by his Special Assistant, Mr Joshua Winner advised the youths to take charge of their tomorrow by being committed to their today in avoiding everything that can mar their future.

While appreciating the organizers for finding him worthy of the recognition, Chief Metchie noted that the youths are no longer future leaders but should take charge of leadership today.

Another awardees and Commissioner for Environment, Engineer Felix Odimegwu said the new price environment is everyone’s business, adding that if the youth understand the role they have to play for environmental sustainability they will embrace it with all their heart and admonished them to maintain good hygiene.

Other awardees include the Minister for Women Affairs , Barrister Uju Ohanenye and Chief Chika Anyaegbu of Chisco Company among others.
